EVENTS
In November 2009 the College put on an Open Evening of Japanese food and culture to raise money for the John Graham Centre, a locally-based charity working with adults with learning disabilities. Musical performances on the san shin and the violin were complemented by displays of Japanese arts and crafts (origami, calligraphy, the tea ceremony), kendo and dance (the traditional Fisherman’s Dance). The evening also included a delicious Japanese buffet, prepared by staff and students, and concluded with a rousing performance on the Taiko drums by the College’s drumming troupe.
