Chaucer College was founded in 1992 by Mr Hiroshi Kawashima. It is an independent College of Higher Education for Japanese students from Shumei University, located on the main campus of the University of Kent, close to the beautiful and historic city of Canterbury.
It is a residential college with accommodation in individual rooms for about 200 students. All students have access to leisure facilities at the University of Kent.
DUTY SECURITY PORTER (6 month contract)
4 x 12 hour shifts followed by 4 days off offering 24 hour /365 day manning of the Porters Lodge. To provide security and assistance to students and staff, duties include all aspects of security and general portering, CCTV and Alarm Monitoring, cash and key handling, managing incoming mail / phone calls and greeting visitors. Must have clean driving licence and current First Aid Certificate or willing to train.

Chaucer College Canterbury is offering a free accommodation and free meals package from 15 September 2012 to 15 June 2013 to a limited number of current first- and second-year University undergraduates. Finalists intending to undertake postgraduate study may also apply.
Candidates must be EITHER native speakers of English OR non-native speakers with a fully fluent and unaccented command of spoken English.
