Chaucer College Canterbury is a purpose built private and secure facility, set within its own grounds on the University of Kent campus.
Located within minutes of the city centre, our campus boasts all classrooms, dining room and on-site residential accommodation on one enclosed campus. The safety, well-being and success of our students is at the centre of everything we do. Our campus has 24-hour monitored security cameras with a porter also on duty 24 hours a day.
Our common room provides a hub for students to get to know each other during their free time. With ping pong, table tennis, games consoles and more for all the students to enjoy, it’s a place for everyone to relax and have fun.
We are just a 25-minute walk from the centre of Canterbury, with a bus stop directly outside, offering a regular bus service to Canterbury city centre, its railway stations and nearby towns. By high-speed rail, there is direct access to London within 1 hour.
With a teaching capacity for 300 students, we offer students studying at Chaucer College Canterbury full board, on-site, residential and nearby host family accommodation options.

residential accommodation
Our residential accommodation on campus offers students the opportunity to live on-site whilst studying at Chaucer College. Male and female residents are accommodated separately and have full use of the College’s leisure areas and sports facilities.
We provide our own house parents in all accommodation blocks who are on hand to help with any problems or questions you may have during your stay.

homestay accommodation
Perfect for students who want to study English and experience life living with a local family for a fully immersive, cultural experience. The majority of our host families will host two or three students. However, some families are available to host single placements.
We are lucky enough to work with a large number of long-standing, reputable families who are more than happy to share their homes and welcome students throughout the year. All families are full enhanced police checked and are visited annually by our dedicated accommodation team.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How many bedrooms do you have?
We have residential accommodation on campus for up to 340 students. Residential accommodation consists of single and twin rooms (with bunk beds).
Are bed linen and towels provided?
All bed linen and towels are provided to students and group leaders and are changed weekly.
Where are your host families located?
The majority of our host families live in nearby seaside towns Whitstable, Herne Bay and the surrounding villages. We have some families located within walking distance of the College.
How many students will live in homestay?
The majority of our host families will host 2 or 3 students. However, we do have some families who will accept single placements.
Do you provide a laundry service?
We have a laundry room on campus which can be used for a small charge (£4.00 per wash). We provide tumble dryers free of charge. Any students accommodated in homestay will be offered a laundry service twice a week by their host family.
What meals do you provide?
We provide full board accommodation. Residential students will have breakfast, lunch and dinner on campus. Homestay students will have lunch on campus and their breakfast and evening meal with their host family.
Where will group leaders be accommodated?
Group leaders will be accommodated in single rooms with shared facilities.
