British Cultural Icons

These courses will help teenagers to understand the people who have helped to create Britain’s unique identity, such as Jane Austen, author of Pride and Prejudice, Arthur Conan Doyle (the creator of Sherlock Holmes), or The Beatles, ¬†one of Britains most famous cultural icons, amongst others.

In morning classes, students will use English to learn about these fascinating lives in an enjoyable and lively way; through hands on research and discussion using literary extracts, films, Youtube clips and songs.

Activities and trips may include visits to the city of Bath, Baker St, the London home of Sherlock Holmes; a Harry Potter Walking Tour in London or a tour of Warner Bros studio; Abbey Road, the London site of the famous Beatles album cover.
