This course will be sure to help young people get to know the world’s number one writer! Find out about Shakespeare the man and his times in a course that brings him alive and makes his writing accessible. Students will experience the richness and beauty of Shakespeare’s writing and its relevance today, even over 400 years after his death.
In morning classes, using English texts and films, we will look at examples of his poetry and plays, showing the huge range of his writing and see how it has been interpreted by artists today. Afternoon and evening activities will include a visit to the Globe Theatre and museum in London (a replica of the theatre that was there in Shakespeare’s time) and a visit to professional production of one of Shakespeare’s plays.
