Both Chaucer College Canterbury and Chaucer College Kingsgate are perfectly positioned to explore some of the best cities and landmarks the country has to offer.

Full Day Excursions

Westminster Bridge with Big Ben in LondonThe sights of London: A coach trip in and around the main sights of London. Previous trips have included: River Thames boat trip from Greenwich to Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace and Trafalgar Square.

Cambridge: A coach trip to this world famous University City. A tour of the colleges and the Fitzwilliam museum and a guided punt (boat ride) along the River Cam.

Oxford: A coach trip to this ancient University City. A tour of the main colleges and the Ashmolean museum followed by some free time in the city centre for shopping and sightseeing.

Brighton: a coach trip to one of the UK’s most famous seaside towns. A visit to the Regency Pavilion and a walking tour to the pier and seafront. Free time to explore ‘the lanes’, home to many small, independent retail shops, bars and cafes.

Half Day Excursions*

Dover CastleBroadstairs: A traditional British seaside town with its beautiful sandy beach and many associations with Charles Dickens, the famous British writer.

Rochester: a small city famous for its old cathedral, Norman Castle, museum and its many connections to Charles Dickens.

Canterbury City and Cathedral: A walking tour of Canterbury Cathedral and the main historic sites of this famous city.

Faversham: A beautiful market town with medieval streets, market square, coffee shops, pubs and restaurants. It is also home to Shepherd Neame, the UK’s oldest brewery.

Chatham Dockyard: Climb on board 3 historic warships, visit the unique Victorian Ropery and the Maritime museums and galleries.

Dickens World: situated close to Chatham Dockyard is this exciting indoor visitor centre which explores the life, books and times of Charles Dickens.

Castles: A trips to one of 3 historic castles in the southeast; Dover Castle, Hever Castle or Leeds Castle.

Shopping: A shopping trip to one of two local shopping centres; Ashford Designer Outlet or Bluewater – one of Europe’s largest indoor shopping centres.

Zoos: Howlett’s Zoo, Port Lympne Zoo and Wingham Wildlife Park, are all within easy reach of both Canterbury and Broadstairs.

*Any half day trips can be combined to make full day excursions for closed groups.
