Chaucer College is the official test centre for the IELTS Academic Test and the IELTS General Training Test in Kent

FIRST NAME, MIDDLE NAMES, FAMILY NAME
You must enter all parts of your name, First Name, all Middle Names, and all parts of your Family Name into the online application form exactly as they are shown in the Passport, National Identity Card, UK Residence Permit or UK Application Registration Card which you will bring as proof of identity on test day. All of these names will be printed on your IELTS Test Report Form. Please be careful to enter your date of birth and ID Document number correctly, as these will also be printed on your IELTS Test Report Form.
If a name or names are found to be missing when your Passport, National Identity Card, UK Residence Permit or UK Application Registration Card is checked against the Attendance Register on the day of the test, you will NOT be allowed to take the test on that day, and you will NOT be eligible for a refund of the test fee. You will have to pay a £50 transfer fee if you wish to take the test on a subsequent date here at Chaucer College Canterbury. This offer is subject to availability. The £50 transfer fee cannot be used to transfer to a subsequent date at a different IELTS Test Centre.

your test day
On the day of your IELTS test, please arrive between 7.45 and 8.30.
You must bring your original Passport, National Identity Card, UK Residence Permit or UK Application Registration Card on the day of the test, whichever you supplied details of in your application.
Please also bring HB pencils, erasers and a pencil sharpener. All answers must be written in pencil.
Please note, the test centre does not supply bottled water. You may bring water in a transparent bottle with no labels. There are water fountains available to refill.
All electronic devices and other belongings must be left in the cloakroom during the test. Chaucer College accepts no responsibility for vehicles and valuable items brought and left on site.
There is free parking on site. Please report to reception and give your vehicle registration number. Pedestrians should use the pedestrian entrance and report to reception on arrival.
If you wish to request special arrangements please contact the IELTS Administrator at least five weeks before your proposed test date. You will need to provide written evidence in English in support of your request for special arrangements. That written evidence will be submitted to Cambridge English Language Assessment for consideration and approval.
test day timetable:
- 8.00 - 8.45: Cloakroom, identity check, registration, photo, finger scan
- 9.00 - 12.30: Listening, Reading & Writing tests
- 13:40 - 16:00: 20 minute Speaking tests. Individual times will be confirmed after the end of the writing test


online results AND TEST REPORT FORM
IELTS results are normally displayed online and posted by first class mail in the UK or by air mail overseas to the address given on your application form 13 days after you have taken the test. You will receive an automated notification email from the British Council once your results are available to view online.
If you wish to collect your results in person, please give advance notice and bring your passport or national identity card with you. We regret that we cannot issue results by telephone, fax or email.
If you require additional copies of your IELTS Test Report Form to be sent to a College, University or organisation, you may download an application for the Issue of Additional TRFs. This request must be made within two years of the test date. There is no charge for sending by mail or airmail but the full delivery fee will be charged if a request is made for delivery of your Test Report Form by courier service.
Cancellation and postponement
If you wish to cancel or postpone your IELTS Test, would must notify the IELTS Administrator by email before midnight on the Saturday two weeks before the date of your test. In that case a £50 administration fee will be charged so you will not receive a full refund if you cancel. You will have to pay the £50 administration fee to postpone.
If you give less than two weeks’ notice before the date of the test you will not receive a refund if you cancel your test. If you wish to take the test at a later date you will have to pay the IELTS Test fee again.
If you wish to postpone your test for medical reasons you must supply written evidence. In the case of medical reasons no administration fee will be charged for postponement.
complaints procedure
If you wish to make a complaint regarding the conduct of the IELTS test, you must request an IELTS Complaint Form for Candidates from the staff on duty on your test day. You should use this form to describe the nature of your complaint. If you are making a complaint about an incident on the test day, this form must be submitted on the day itself. Please note, results cannot be issued until the complaint has been investigated and resolved.

If you think your IELTS test has not been marked correctly, you may download an IELTS Enquiry on Results Form. You must make this request within six weeks of the test date. The fee is £110.00, irrespective of how many sections you wish to have remarked. This will be refunded if your IELTS result is raised by the British Council Senior Examiner.
IELTS Writing and Speaking assessments are carried out by trained and certified examiners, all of whom are qualified and experience English language specialists. The examiners work to clearly defined criteria and are subject to extensive and detailed quality control procedures.
