As the registered test centre for IELTS examinations in the South East, on completion of any of our preparation courses, students can register to sit the official IELTS examination here at Chaucer College, subject to booking and availability. All courses are available for closed groups or one-to-one tuition for individuals.

ielts foundation!

A specialist course for intermediate students (B1+) planning to sit the IELTS academic exam in the future (target: IELTS 6+).

The course covers all aspects of the IELTS academic examination, including key academic language, grammatical structures and exam strategies for each paper.  Lessons also include reading, writing, listening and speaking practice to raise your English level in all four skills.

  • Tuition: Up to 21 or 30 hours per week
  • Classes: Monday - Friday (classes may be morning or afternoon)
  • Start Date: every Monday
  • Course Length: minimum 1 week
  • Student Level: Intermediate (B1+)

ielts PRO!

A specialist course for students who have taken the IELTS exam at least once before and are planning to sit the IELTS academic exam again in the future. 

Designed for Upper-Intermediate (B2+) students who wish to take their English to the next level to pass IELTS (target: IELTS 7+).

The course covers all aspects of the IELTS academic examination, including essential study skills and exam strategies for each paper.  

  • Tuition: up to 21 or 30 hours per week
  • Classes: Monday - Friday, morning & afternoon
  • Course Length: 2 weeks
  • Student Level: Upper-Intermediate (B2+)

ielts evening course

Designed for academic IELTS students who are looking to improve their writing skills to achieve a band 7 for professional or academic purposes. 

The course covers all aspects of the writing section of the IELTS academic examination and will provide students with the opportunity to take mock IELTS writing examinations.

  • Tuition: 2 hours per week
  • Classes: every Tuesday, 7pm - 9pm
  • Course Length: 5 weeks
  • Student Level: IELTS score 6

Individual course fees include placement test/needs analysis, course materials and end of course certificate. 

All subject to a non-refundable registration fee of £50.00 (excludes online courses).
