Chaucer College students joined local Canterbury runners to take part in a Parkrun event, which takes place on the University playing fields every Saturday morning. Parkrun is an organization which manages free, weekly, 5km. timed runs around the U.K. and around the world.
They are open to everyone, are free, and are safe and easy to take part in. There is also a parkrun in Whitstable on Tankerton Slopes on Saturday mornings. Although unlucky with the weather this week, the students had an interesting morning; some of them ran while others supported the race by helping with the organisation of the run. The Chancellor of the College, Professor Koji Yoshikawa also took part.
