Board Member

Founded in 1992, Chaucer College is an accredited residential language school located in Canterbury, Kent, with over 30 years’ experience in teaching English as a foreign language to short-stay international students.  

We are looking for people who have either recent experience of education at secondary and/or tertiary level which can be applied to a language school, or with experience of managing business and expertise in one or more of Finance, HR, Property and Hospitality. You would be acting as an independent non-executive director and charity trustee providing governance oversight of the charitable company. This a non-paid role to support and further the work of Chaucer College keeping within its charitable objectives.  

Our Board of Directors meets quarterly. While we particularly welcome expressions of interest from people in the local area our Board has previously drawn people from across the UK. Our Board meetings are held quarterly in person or via Zoom which enables our Japanese directors to participate and makes meetings accessible for all our directors. There will be occasions when you will be invited to attend the College in person for meetings or functions.  We are looking for additional Board Members and would welcome expressions of interest from those with relevant experience who are enthusiastic about international education.
