Centre Activity Manager

Fixed Term Contract February to end of August 2020 with the possibility of extending

Full time up to 45 hours per week

You will be required to work unsociable hours, weekends and overnight on-call duties.

You will be responsible for the delivery of our Activity Programmes supporting the Course Directors in all aspects of our Spring/ Summer school management particularly relating to activities, excursions, transfers and pastoral care.
You will ensure that all relevant staff are well informed, organised, engaging well with students and that the overall programme is well delivered.

Previous experience in a similar role is desirable or the ability to demonstrate transferable skills.

Flexibility is required, excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

English language teachers required

(Please note this position does not offer accommodation)

Fixed term contracts with work available for:

23rd of January to 6th of February, 21st of February to 1st of March or 17th of February to 19th of March 2020 with the potential for further work throughout the Summer 2020.

Up to 42 hours per week, working a maximum of 6 days per week, including Saturday morning classes or all day trips, Tuesday mornings and Sundays are work free.

Requirements of the role include teaching, supervision of afternoon activities and excursions. On occasions this may require split shifts.

Teachers required for teaching English to our students (11-17 years), providing high quality language tuition and motivating learners to develop their potential.

Competitive weekly rate. Holiday pay accrued for completed weeks will be paid at the end of the fixed term contract.

Qualifications required CELTA Minimum, DELTA preferred.

Head of academic business (operations & development)

We are looking to recruit a Head of Academic Business to work as part of our Senior Management Team to provide professional leadership, for the development and delivery of our academic programmes. You must have experience in a similar environment and proven successful background working within EFL. This role will also work closely with our marketing team in order to support business growth so experience in this area would be an advantage. You will be able to work independently whilst being a strong team player working with all departments across the College. You will be responsible for leading and supporting a large team of academic staff. 

The successful applicant will demonstrate recent line management experience in an academic/educational context. You will have a proven track record of inspirational leadership which will enable you to drive forward and facilitate the strategic development and vision for the College through the academic department. You will be highly organised and motivated with a commitment to providing an excellent student experience. We require excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey complex information to colleagues at all levels and visiting group leaders.

There will be a significant change management element to this role, working with our HR Manager to ensure we have the right resources at the right level to deliver the best to our students as we continue to grow our business.

finance manager

We are looking for a forward-thinking and highly analytical Finance Manager to manage our financial and accounting responsibilities plus processing of payroll for up to 150 staff.

You will be a key member of our Senior Management Team with responsibility for payroll, the daily accounting and financial managements of the charity and companies. You will have excellent accounting knowledge , high attention to detail, and a love of developing robust financial reports and processes. 

The successful candidate will be IT literate and have high level experience using software accounting packages such as Sage 200 & Sage 50 Payroll.

They will hold a high-level accountancy qualification or relevant degree or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience.

38 hours per week

Alternating shift system covering early and late shifts

Duties include, responsible for preparation and service of meals in accordance with weekly menu cycles, checking and preparation of equipment, maintaining a food safe environment with high standards of health & safety and hygiene at all times, ensuring compliance with current legislation. The ability to work as part of a team, flexibility and reliability are essential.

homestay families

We are looking for families who can offer a warm welcome to students throughout the year and who are willing to involve them in family activities.

Requirements:

  • Monday – Friday: breakfast & an evening meal
  • Weekends: breakfast, lunch & dinner 
  • Packed lunch on any trip days
  • Valid DBS for all family members aged 16 years and above (can be organised by the College if necessary)
  • All families must have a Landlord’s Gas Safety Certificate
