English Language Teachers - Fixed Term Contracts

We are looking for English teachers to teach our Japanese students, providing high quality language tuition and motivating learners to develop their full potential.

Qualifications required: CELTA (TEFL) minimum; preferred DELTA (TEFLQ) salary dependent on qualification level.

Contracts are available from the 6th of September through to the 20th of December with the possibility of further contracts in 2023.

£12.88 – £13.62 per hour paid for teaching, planning and preparation hours.

 

Chef

We are looking for a Chef to join our catering team to prepare meals for our students on our campus.

Duties include preparation and service of meals in accordance with weekly menu cycles, checking and preparation of equipment, maintaining a food safe environment ensuring high standards of health & safety and hygiene at all times, ensuring compliance with current “Food Standards Association” (FSA) regulations.

The ability to work as part of a team, flexibility and excellent timekeeping are all essential requirements.

Alternating shift system covering early and late shifts, including weekends.

£13.00 per hour (38 hours per week).

Cleaners

We are still looking for energetic and hardworking cleaners to join our college staff team. 

Cleaning of student accommodation, communal areas, and Airbnb rooms, including kitchens, toilets, bath/ shower rooms. Changing bedding as required.

Flexibility to work hours which meet the needs of the business.

Must be reliable with excellent timekeeping.

£9.18 £9.50 per hour.

Welfare Assistant

We are looking for Welfare Assistants that are fluent in Japanese (speaking and written) or a native speaker to work part time from August/September 2022.

This job combines administrative and pastoral responsibilities for the college’s university-age Japanese students including safeguarding the health and general well-being of the students.  You will work on a rota as part of the Welfare team.

Working with the Shumei Representative and Head of Programmes, duties will include:

•    student supervision, ensuring attendance in class;

•    working with visiting teachers;

•    assisting with student arrivals and departures;

•    accompanying students as a Japanese translator when necessary.

Applicants would ideally have a Full clean UK Driving Licence.

Experience in a similar role and environmental is desirable.

£9.50 – £10.50 per hour.

 

Student Services Administrator

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Student Services Administrator with excellent communication skills. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support to our Head of Student Services.

You will be responsible for the delivery of our activity programmes for our international students, including activities, excursions, transfers, arrivals, departures and pastoral care whilst effectively managing the administration elements of the role. You will ensure that all relevant staff are well informed, organised, engaging well with students.

Previous experience in a similar role is essential or able to demonstrate transferrable skills. You will have a fully flexible approach to the role and have excellent administration and interpersonal skills, able to deal appropriately with students, group leaders and colleagues. You will have a full understanding and a working knowledge of safeguarding procedures.

You will be required to work unsocial hours including weekends on a rota over 6 days per week.

 

£19,500 per annum (37.5 hours per week).

 

 

 

English Conversation Teachers

We are looking for English Conversation Teacher to lead evening conversation classes with our resident Japanese (university level) students between September and December 2022..

Candidates must be EITHER native speakers, or non-native speakers who are fully fluent with an unnaccented command of spoken English.

Classes typically occur in the early evening, between 19:30 PM and and 21:00 PM.

There will also be duties assisting our Japanese teachers after classes and serving in the on-site shop.

£9.50 per hour.
